Stereolab return with euphoric single ‘Aerial Troubles’, world tour dates, and first album in 15 years, ‘Instant Holograms On Metal Film’

Stereolab

Stereolab have announced their first album in 15 years and shared new single ‘Aerial Troubles’. Check out full details below.

‘Instant Holograms On Metal Film’ is the follow up to the band’s last LP, 2010’s ‘Not Music?’ and will feature guest contributions from Cooper Crain and Rob Frye (Bitchin Bajas), Ben LaMar Gay (International Anthem), Ric Elsworth, Holger Zapf (Cavern Of Anti-Matter), Marie Merlet and Molly Hansen Read.

It will be released on May 23 on the band’s own label Duophonic UHF Disks, and Warp Records and will be available on double vinyl LP in standard and colour variants, as well as CD and digital formats. You can pre-order/pre-save it here.

The band have also shared their euphoric first single from the record ‘Aerial Troubles’, which you can listen to below and an album trailer.

The news follows on from the band recently teasing that new music was on the way after sending mysterious packages out to fans in the post.

The art-rock group’s founding members Laetitia Sadier and Tim Gane reunited in 2019 alongside former bandmates Andy Ramsay and Joseph Watson after an initial run from 1990 to 2009.

Since then, the five-piece have toured the world and reissued their albums on vinyl as expanded editions that have included rare demos and extensive liner notes.

The full tracklisting for ‘Instant Holograms On Metal Film’  is as follows:

1. ‘Mystical Plosives’
