Evo 2025: Everything Announced At The Annual Three-Day Fighting Game Fest

A weekend of world warriors in Vegas!

The Super Bowl of fighting games has once again left its mark on Las Vegas, as Evo 2025 saw over 13,000 unique entrants make their way to the Las Vegas Convention Center for three days of furious fisticuffs. Along with the competition, however, came multiple reveals for multiple current and upcoming fighting games, including new characters, fresh new gameplay footage, and more.

Capcom, Arc System Works, and Skybound were among those who dropped new information during Evo’s grand finals day on Sunday, while SNK shadow-dropped its next big update in front of the unsuspecting Evo crowd. Next up for Evo, meanwhile, is Evo France in Nice from October 10-12, while Evo Vegas was confirmed to return June 26-28, 2026–a full four weeks earlier than previous years.

Below is everything that was announced at Evo Vegas 2025 from the biggest titles in the fighting game world.

Mortal Kombat Legacy Collection adds MK Trilogy

The new anthology title from Atari, Digital Eclipse, and NetherRealm Studios will add Mortal Kombat Trilogy–the 1996 mashup of every game in MK’s 2D era–to the compilation. Specifically, the PlayStation version of the game will be included in the Legacy Collection, with the much-needed improvement of zero load times during Shang Tsung’s Morph ability.

Virtua Fighter 5 REVO World Stage

The recent Virtual Fighter 5 REVO will taking to the World Stage, as it is set to be ported to Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch 2. While the Switch 2 release date is not yet set in stone, the other consoles will see this new version of VF5 enter the arena on October 30.

New Virtua Fighter Project first footage

Sega wasn’t done with the VF5 news, however, as the team also brought the first raw gameplay footage of the upcoming new entry in the Virtua Fighter franchise to the Evo stage. The brief snippet shows series mainstays Akira Yuki and Sarah Bryant battling in a training stage, with new slow-mo and zoom cinematics highlighting impactful moves and the final K.O.

HunterxHunter NenxImpact season pass

The 3v3 tag fighter starring characters from the popular HunterxHunter anime franchise unveiled its first season pass during the finals of its side tournament. Neferpitou will be the first character added to the roster–she’s scheduled to release this fall–and the other three characters were teased via silhouette.

Under Night In-Birth II Sys:Celes adds Izumi

Under Night developer French Bread introduced players to the next playable character, Izumi, just before the UNISC Top 8. Izumi is a water-based fighter who fights with a fishy companion.

Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising EX characters

Along with the release of a new character in Wilnas, Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising has introduced EX characters–altered versions of existing characters that are meant to “create a new gameplay experience”–to the roster. Gran, Djeeta, and Narmaya are the first three roster members to gain EX variants.

Invincible Vs. adds Omni-Man

Despite being in the initial reveal trailer for Invincible Vs. back in June, Omni-Man wasn’t technically confirmed for the playable roster. That changed during Evo’s grand finals day, where first footage of the Viltrumite in action was revealed to the Evo crowd.

Marvel Tokon closed beta announcement

Arc System Works had a busy Evo Sunday in 2025, with three key announcements for its present and future games. First up was Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls, which will be entering a closed beta test September 5-7. Players who sign up for the PlayStation Beta Program on the Playstation website will be eligible to join the beta, though access to signups is not guaranteed.

Guilty Gear Strive adds Lucy from Cyberpunk: Edgerunners

After her announcement during last year’s Evo, Lucy from Cyberpunk: Edgerunners will finally join Guilty Gear Strive’s playable roster on August 21. Guilty Gear Strive 2.0

The Lucy trailer for Guilty Gear Strive ended with a teaser for “GGST 2.0,” a new update coming to the game to celebrate its fifth anniversary. Nothing from the update was announced or confirmed, but we did get a glimpse of two characters who aren’t yet in the game–Robo-Ky and Jam Kuradoberi.

Ken Masters joins Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves

While we knew that Ken Masters from Street Fighter was heading to Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves at some point, we didn’t know exactly when that would happen. SNK not only made the announcement, it shadow-dropped the Shotokan–Ken is available in Fatal Fury now.

Tekken 8 shows off Armor King and reveals a brand-new fighter

Tekken 8’s major announcements came in two parts: First, a gameplay trailer for the next characters in Season 2–the vengeful wrestler Armor King–highlighted the old and new moves the grey-marked lucha will bring to the game on October 13. After that, the final character for Season 2 was revealed; Miary Zo, the game’s first representative from Madagascar, will join the roster this winter, along with a new stage called Baobab Horizon.

Street Fighter 6 reveals new swimsuit costumes and teases C. Viper

The final two reveals of Evo 2025 came from Capcom, who not only teased its next roster member, C.Viper, but also revealed new summer-themed costumes for seven current fighters. Keen-eyed Street Fighter fans may recognize Chun-Li’s and Cammy’s swimsuit outfits from a classic piece of SF art drawn by Kinu Nishimura during the Super Street Fighter II era.
