Folks, I think it’s happening. Team Cherry, the renowned developer behind Hollow Knight and its upcoming sequel Silksong, is teasing a major announcement this week. All signs appear to point towards news of an imminent release date or even a shadowdrop.
Early on the morning of August 19, Team Cherry shared a post on social media–its first in a while, as a matter of fact–announcing that it would be making an announcement two days later. At the same time, it shared a link to a livestream on the team’s own YouTube page dated to go live on August 21 at 7:30 AM PT/ 10:30 AM ET.
Despite rumors and teases that Silksong would appear at Gamescom Opening Night Live, the E3-like showcase that occurs at the biggest games trade show in Europe, it appears that its developers are taking matters into their own hands for the special occasion. Though it could still show up on the main stage, it seems more likely that it’ll now have a big blowout on its own terms a few days later.
