Disgraced Hollywood actor Kevin Spacey was “a little weird” on the set of Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, game director Glen Schofield said, adding that the controversy surrounding the Oscar-winner does not “taint the game” overall.
Speaking to PC Gamer, Schofield said he wanted Spacey to play the villain, Jonathan Irons, even though he understood that Spacey was not well-versed in gaming. Despite that, Schofield applauded Spacey’s acting chops, saying he gave an “unbelievable” performance in Advanced Warfare.
“He just is a great actor,” Schofield said. “Then when we said cut, you could tell the video games weren’t his thing. We had to get him a trailer. So he had a trailer outside that he would go in and he was a little bit more difficult, I would say. There’s a speech where he talks about democracy, and that’s just a really amazing speech.”
