Kirby and friends are speeding down the track
Kirby Air Riders is a racing game for the Nintendo Switch 2 that brings back the gameplay style of Kirby Air Ride, originally released on the GameCube. Players control Kirby and other characters from the Kirby series as they ride unique machines through various tracks.
The game includes three main modes: Air Ride, Top Ride, and City Trial. In Air Ride, players race on 3D tracks using different vehicles, each with its own strengths and weaknesses. Top Ride is a top-down racer with more arcade-style tracks, often chaotic and fast. City Trial has players explore an open city to find upgrades before taking part in a random challenge at the end. This mode emphasizes exploration and unpredictability more than pure racing.
Multiplayer is a significant aspect of the game, offering support for both local and online play. Up to four players can race together on the same console, while online matches support more. The online features include matchmaking, ranked races, and timed events. There’s also a cooperative version of City Trial where players work together instead of competing, adding a different type of gameplay to the mix.
It’s scheduled to be released on November 20, and you can check out a selection of screenshots from the game below.
