Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls Devs Aim To Keep The Brawler Alive For A Decade

Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls won’t be out for a while, but developer Arc System Works already has an ambitious plan to make it one of the longest-running fighting games of all time. The 4v4 fighter pitting Marvel’s mightiest heroes and villains against each other was in the spotlight during Evo 2025, and during a panel segment, producer Takeshi Yamanaka and PlayStation’s Reed Baird spoke about their goal to support the game for the next decade.

“Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls is still very much in development, but we need everyone’s help,” Baird said (via ShinKensou and GamesRadar). From the fighting game community to the players to the Marvel fans, we want to do our best to make this an even more exciting experience than it could possibly be. For the next 10 years, we plan to keep making this game the best experience ever.”

That’s an ambitious goal for the Marvel fighting game, but not entirely impossible. For comparison, Capcom has supported its last three mainline Street Fighter games for several years after launch with gameplay overhauls and new characters, and Arc’s Guilty Gear Strive has regularly been updated with new characters since it launched in 2021–including Lucy from Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, who joins the game later this month.
