Microsoft has confirmed another round of massive layoffs. The company told CNBC that it’s laying off 7,000 people, or about 3% of its workforce. The company employed 228,000 people as of June 2024.
The layoffs impact workers “across all levels, teams, and geographies,” CNBC reported. A spokesperson for Microsoft said the layoffs were necessary “to best position the company for success in a dynamic marketplace.”
Microsoft is making this move just after announcing that it made $70 billion in revenue and $25.8 billion in profit for the past three months alone.
