Tekken X Street Fighter Was 30% Done Before Development Was Paused, Tekken Boss Says

Back in 2012, the worlds of Street Fighter and Tekken collided in the 2.5D fighting game Street Fighter X Tekken. This was a two-part project that would have been followed up by Tekken X Street Fighter, bringing Capcom’s roster of brawlers into the 3D space of Tekken. That was the plan at the time, but by 2016, development had been put on hold.

Just how much of the project was completed before Bandai Namco and Capcom pulled the plug on it? According to Tekken series producer Katsuhiro Harada, the team behind this project was “30%” into development, and he’d love to show fans what had been produced up to that point.

“It’s hard to say if that’s even a thing,” Harada said when asked about the status of Tekken X Street Fighter by Destructoid. “I mean, it depends on what people are wanting as well. That said, I would like to show people what we already have. That would be cool if we could do that. We were 30% into development, so fingers crossed.”
