Xbox Game Pass adds even more big titles for August 2025

Microsoft has announced the second wave of titles heading to Xbox Game Pass this August and the list includes some big games.

Xbox Game Pass is a subscription service that gives both Xbox and PC players access to a massive library of games. To keep things fresh, new titles are constantly being added while other games are removed.

Twelve titles have already been added to Xbox Game Pass this August, including Assassin’s Creed Mirage, Farming Simulator 25 and the surprise release of the remastered Heretic + Hexen. Now Microsoft has confirmed nine more titles will be coming to the service this month.

The remastered Gears Of War: Reloaded will be available to all Ultimate subscribers from August 26 while Dragon Age: The Veilguard will be joining the Xbox Game Pass library on August 29.

Microsoft has also confirmed five games will be leaving the service at the end of the month including blockbuster hit Borderlands 3.

​​There’s at least one big Day One release still to be announced this week, with Team Cherry teasing a “special” announcement about Hollow Knight: Silksong for later today (August 21). Fans believe the long-awaited sequel to 2017’s Hollow Knight will launch at some point in the next seven weeks.

Earlier this year, Microsoft confirmed 19 Day One releases would be joining the Xbox Game Pass service throughout 2025 and beyond. Frostpunk 2 will be available for subscribers in September, The Outer Worlds 2 will launch in October alongside Call Of Duty: Black Ops 7.

In other news, it looks like Gorillaz are heading to Fortnite but some players have no idea who the band are.
