Yves Tumor and Bar Italia’s NINA have come together to share a new collaborative track called ‘WE DONT COUNT’. Check it out below.

The song arrives today (July 30) via Warp Records, and comes with an accompanying black and white music video.

It marks the first new release from Yves Tumor since the 2023 studio album, ‘Praise A Lord Who Chews But Which Does Not Consume; (Or Simply, Hot Between Worlds)’.

With the track, the two come together to capture a post-punk vibe, along with heavy bass parts and serrated guitar sections. It also incorporates hypnotic vocal melodies, and blends both of their signature styles together to find a new, unique sound.

I don’t really like it (I feel like you do)/ I don’t think you’ll win (we’re both losers too) /But you don’t really want to stop (You don’t have the will)/ One day you might see too,” we hear in the atmospheric opening verse, as the song builds towards its climax.

Check it out below, along with the artsy new music video.

‘WE DONT COUNT’ marks the first official collaboration between Yves Tumor and NINA, and sees both expand their discography with nods to post-punk, rock, alt and more.

While it marks the follow-up to Yves Tumor’s ‘Praise A Lord…’, for NINA, it follows the songwriter already dropping the singles ‘TWINK’ and ‘Till the devil gets bored’ this year, as well as ‘Discordia’ – a collaborative EP with fellow Roman artist Orazio.

More recently, NINA composed the original score for her debut film, The Richest Man in Babylon. It is described by her team as a “disquieting meditation on the psychic and ecological fallout of modern austerity”, and one that explores “personal and systemic collapse with seduction, silence, and precision.”

For Yves, 2023’s ‘Praise A Lord Who Chews But Which Does Not Consume; (Or Simply, Hot Between Worlds)’ was given a four-star review from NME and described as a “delightful trip into the darkest corners of the mind”.

“With their latest album, the experimental producer and songwriter transcends even further, dipping into electronica, alt-pop and punk territory and landing on a collection of songs that are equally bizarre and delightful,” it read.

“‘Praise…’ is evidence of how brilliant rock can be when ambition and talent are met with a creative who isn’t afraid to be strange,” it added. “It’s an album that could have easily ventured too out-there for the masses to find it palpable, but thanks Tumor’s outsized talent and personality, ‘Praise…’ avoids decadence and proves richly satisfying.”

For Bar Italia, NINA and co. released their third studio LP ‘Tracey Denim’ in 2023 as well. In another four-star review, NME shared: “The 15 impressively arranged tracks on ‘Tracey Denim’ will only bolster Bar Italia’s discography to date, ushering them, whether they like it or not, even further into the spotlight.”
